The Bible vividly describes God's grace as an unearned favor bestowed upon us, irrespective of our actions. Ephesians 2:8-9 states: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Grace Overcoming Our Shortcomings
One of the most comforting aspects of God's grace is that it remains constant even when we falter. It is easy to fall into the misconception that our missteps will lead to divine retribution. However, God's grace ensures that we are not defined by our mistakes. Romans 5:20 reassures us: "But where sin increased, grace increased all the more." This verse emphasizes that God's grace is abundant and surpasses our shortcomings, providing us with a path to redemption and growth. I watched youtube for 5 minutes without asking and I felt super bad about it and I repented, but i still felt guilty for doing this which I totally deserved. Later that day we went to our grandma's house to swim, and Ginny...my baby sister was under water. Nobody knew what happened, her eyes were wide open and my family including me were all freaking out. My dad got Ginny out from under the water quick and her lips were a bit purple and she was not breathing. Thankfully they got the water out of her but there was still a problem. Ginny was lethargic. My parents rushed her to the ER and it took a few hours to get the x ray done and she was good to go, later she did throw up a bit more water and on the way home all of us were crying. That event scarred all of us. Me for a few days just thought, "My sister almost died, what if next time nobody's there to save her. Was it my fault that happened to her because I sinned. Did God make this happen to my family and Ginny to remind me not to sin." I talked to my parents about it and they said it was not my fault that Ginny almost drowned. Sometimes bad things just happen and you can't do a thing about it. They also said that God is a gracious God, which means he won't make my baby sister almost drown because I sinned. Infact he forgives us and moves on and continues to help us throughout our lives. So whatever your going through remember to have faith in God and remember how gracious and faithful he is.
